The 2010 national and local elections are drawing near as manifested by the early media exposures and political mud-slinging of the presidential wannabes. The 2010 elections are crucial for several reasons: aside from its being a presidential contest, we have a new Commission on Elections to run the process under a proposed automated election system that has yet to be tested on a nationwide scale. Hence, monitoring each and every aspect of the 2010 elections and ensuring the credibility of the results therefore become imperative. With this, Bantay Eleksyon has renewed our commitment to monitor the entire process of the 2010 elections with emphasis on various components such the election administration, automated election system, voter registration, voter education, campaign finance, and election violence. Bantay Eleksyon 2010 seeks to be actively involved in domestic monitoring by employing appropriate action or intervention in case observed irregularities or election violations. Monitoring results will be disseminated to the public. We enjoin all the concerned citizen-voters of our contry to vote, be invloved and repsond to the call of ensuirng the credbility of the 2010 elections. Be part of our endeavor to strengthen our democracy! |
